Paris and going up the Eiffel Tower

Wow - exciting day.  Today we headed to Paris on the 7am train and so we were all up bright and early ready for our taxi - unfortunately there was a bit of an issue with the Taxi that Loks booked on his Ipad App and so we had to get some new taxis from the streets! Anyway, made it to the train on time.  Travelling on the trains over here is fab - you go up over 300kms at times and we only stopped twice making the 661km journey in 3 hours and 25 minutes - perfect!

We left Marseille basking in sun and arrived in Paris to rain and cold! Bugger! Anyway got a taxi to our apartment which was ready and so we could chill for a little before going to the supermarket to stock up and then head to the Eiffel Tower for our 3.30pm appointment - wahoo! Rain, hail or shine we were going up!

Anyway, by the time we left our hotel the rain had stopped and while certainly not warm, the weather was okay and we were dry.  Karl managed to sort our metro travel and did it with ease.  I so love his sense of direction.

We got to the tower which is so impressive - Connor was so excited - I kept telling him to wait and he kept saying "but I am just so excited" - very cute.  After the hundred or so standard must do photos we were ready to go up the tower - albeit half an hour before our slot.  Anyway no problems, straight through passed the lines and into the lift (the lines were not that long today anyway - but still cool) and then we were going up - too cool!

The boys were super excited

Actually we all were ....................
Go Connor!

So cool to be experiencing this not only with my husband and kids, but also my mum, brother and sister-in-law! Missing my sister and family though!
Mum just strolling toward to Eiffel Tower - very cool!

Mum running a bit late for the photo and the changing sign!

Up to the second floor to explore and then up to the top! Wow - what views and how impressive! And best of all - champagne is available at the top and was a must do - so we did - as you would all expect!  This was perfect - I remember going up the Eiffel Tower 20 plus years ago and to be back doing it with my family and my children - amazing!

We are going up there - crazy!
Up we go - exciting!

Champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower with my amazing husband - what could be more perfect!

Karl and Dean having a wine - I said "kiss for the photo" and this is Karl's response!

haha Deano

Amazing views and what a thing to do with your grandsons - perfect!

More great shots - so much to see and identify - we were up there for about 2 hours!

The weather on one side of the tower was great - the other side - bloody windy - so we mainly stayed on one side and spend about 2 hours exploring the tower - mostly at the top! We then headed down to the second level where there were shops and of course we had to do some shopping there at the official (and more expensive) stores - too much fun!

We then headed down and hopped off at level one (still high) where there were glass floors where we all had fun jumping and playing - and there was even a hop scotch up there - who would have thought!

Anyway, we were now ready to leave the tower and walk around taking more photos before heading back to the underground and back toward our hotel - much needed wine and dinner!

Great start to our Paris adventures - bring on tomorrow and Rolland Garros French Tennis Open - we cannot wait!
