Day 4 - Kensington Palace and gardens and the Science Museum

Today after another fabulous buffet breakfast we were ready for the day - another glorious day in London.  We really did strike great weather - a bit dodgy on our arrival and then better and better everyday! Here we are hitting the tube once again, some of the escalators to the underground are huge!
Kensington Palace and Gardens were our first stop and here are the kids playing in the Princess Diana Memorial Playground.  Crazy to think on my last visit I was at the palaces hoping for a glipse of her and she was well and truly alive!

Such a beautiful palace!

Exploring the grounds.......

The kids were excited about all the parks and grass around London - and tag was played on each and everyone one...................
From the gardens, the museums were just a short walk away - past Royal Albert Hall

We were hoping to do both the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum today but the cue for the NHM meant that this was not to be.  As it was a bank holiday it was crazy busy and so we decided to flag this one and try again tomorrow when everyone was meant to be back at school and work.  Off to the science museum we headed .................................................after a little exploring it was time to go to the Fire and Explosion Show and of course Loki put his hand up to help out...........with setting off an explosion!

He had fun, survived and had lots of questions for the lady after the show.  Then it was time for Connor and I to explore the Under 8 area while the older boys explored other parts of the museum.

Here you had to put on hands and feet and walk like a puppy..........there was also a duck and a baby to emulate.

There were cool puzzles

A drawing machine which was then projected up onto the wall........

Very cool - there was also a dancing section where Connor had a blast.  The older boys then came to get us as they had found a simulated ride to the moon 4D experience, so off we went.........................................cool show and experience.  Great museum, it was huge and fun!
By mid-afternoon we were ready to chill a little so we decided to head back to the hotel.  Connor and I relaxed reading and playing cards while Karl and Loki returned to the Imperial War Museum for another 2 hour look around and to purchase a couple of books they had seen.  One was a book on "tank spotting" and other on a lady called Nancy Wake, better known as the White Mouse.  Loki and I had read about her before in one of Bear Grylls books.  She was born in New Zealand, raised in Australia and ended up marrying a Frenchman and living in Marseille during the second world war she played a major part in the resistance.  Both Loki and I are keen to read this book.

Once the boys returned on closing it was time for dinner.  I was keen on a curry so we found an Indian Restaurant, had a yummy dinner and then headed back to the hotel for bed.
