Day 3 - Tower of London and Hamley's toy store

Day 3 – We woke up a little later and headed for breakfast.  Loki learnt to moderate his intake and just had a large breakfast.  Then it was time to catch the tube to go to the Tower of London.  We aready had tickets and so joined the cue – it was moving pretty fast and we in within about 15 minutes…….first stop was the beefeater tour – this was informative and funny and a good start to exploring the tower.  Loki was up the front, asked questions however told “dad jokes – jokes that weren’t that funny”.  This went for about 40 minutes and then we were off to see the crown jewels before the queue formed – we walked straight in and by the time we came out the queue was about 100 metres long and just kept growing.  The crown jewels were cool and the boys were able to relate to it, not only because of the tour, but also the muppet movie where there were attempts to steal the jewels.  Then we went to the White Tower where there was the knights armorery – good boy space.  We then explored the rest of the tower of London, walking the walls and marveling at all that was around.

Next we headed to Hamleys, the largest toy store in the world – this was a crazy place located in Regent Street – 7 stories of madness.  Connor brought a Captain America shield and Loki could not decide and so is saving his money.

We then walked toward Piccadilly Circus to grab some food (Jamie Oliver takeways) and people watch and then we walked to St James Park, Downing Street, Westminster Abbey and then home to our hotel for a well earned rest and chill out………….

Downing Street - pretty well armed!
Westminster Abbey and Parliament Buildings

After a rest it was time for beers and cards again and dinner at the restaurant……………….
bed by 8.30 – being a tourist is exhausting for all – we walked about 13 kms today!
