Monaco

Today we were up bright and early and ready to hit the road - it was a 3 hour drive to Monaco and we wanted to get there early.  We took the motorway direct and we were there by 9.30am, found a park under the Monte Carlo Casino and we were ready to explore.  The Monaco Grand Prix race track was the focus of the exploration and lucky for us they were already in the process of setting up the fences and grandstands for the race next weekend.
On arrival we headed to the Information Centre to grab a map; then walked through a really cool plaza to get out to the streets.  It had some fabulous stores and probably nothing that was within our budget! Cool though and amazing chandeliers!!!!
We then found a boulangerie and grabbed some food to eat on the run!  We then walked along the waterfront checking out the buildings, casinos, beaches and super- yachts - there were also many, many flash cars to get the boys interested - every second car was was a Porsche, Ferrari and Maserati.  There is certainly some money in Monaco!!!!
We then walked the circuit and down pit lane - we had some excited people with us!!!!
We then decided to get moving and walked back up to our car and we then drove the race track which was very exciting for all.  There were racing car sounds being made; at one point there was a Mercedes in front of us and the boys were saying “come-on Hamilton - get out of the way” and there was some revving on the start line - great fun for all.

We then began the journey toward Nice - we were all amazing by the amount of tunnels in this area of France.  There are whole road systems underground, including lights, roundabouts and is a great way to travel and a great way to keep the town (or towns) free of this traffic!

Wow - there is some serious money in this town!

The boys checking out the views and below is a statue of Adam and Eve in all their glory

The beautiful buildings that abound in Monaco and the beautiful boats - now currently surrounded by grandstands for the grand prix next weekend.

Yup, we walked and then drove the track - like real fans!!!!!
Karls' favourite - not -
The boys in Pit Lane - very cool

Unfortunately this is not our car - nor where we were shopping.........

The closest I will get to an Alexander McQueen dress or shop!

Super yacht city!
