The beautiful villages of Aveyron

Today the plan was to do a scenic drive exploring 3 gorgeous villages we had heard about in the direction of Millau and an amazing viaduct.  

The 1st village we went to was Estaing - in this village was the beautiful Muret le Chateau - and some beautiful buildings and scenery

The next village we were heading toward was St-Come d'Old and here there was a cool market and lots of children dancing.  It was a neat experience to watch and Connor was especially taken with the little boys dancing -

Then we came across this crazy car - now this is what we call ingenuity - a car very much held together with tape - funny!

Next we were off to Ste-Etulalie d'Olt -

More amazingly beautiful houses and surrounds -

From the photo below you can see that the river was up a bit and quite muddy - this was actually a designated walkway however not too accessible today.  There has been a crazy amount of rain in France recently however we have missed pretty much all of it - yay!

And then it was time to drive to Millau and where we were staying for the night.  It was after 2pm by the time we arrived and we were in great need of lunch - we found the central square and as there was a "velo fete" (bike festival) on we decided this would be a great place for lunch - and a show!

Next we were off to find our accommodation - a really cute cabin and the boys were excited that there was a pool!
