Rodez and La Roumec

The scenery over here is fantastic and we are loving driving the country roads and through lots of little villages.  Today we were heading to Rodez for lunch and to get supplies for our evening in La Roumec.  This is the view of the cathedral of Rodez and our view during our lunch - perfect!

We have been so lucky with the weather - everywhere that we arrive tell us that it has been raining for the past so many days and has just cleared - perfect timing so far - yay!

We then headed to our B&B - which is truly in the middle of nowhere - and what a great find - another amazing place to stay -

This photo is of the lounge on the ground floor -
The little alcove shows the thickness of the walls in this old chateau

Doors were so little - cute!  Our room was off this lounge -
And then you headed to the first floor and the kitchenette and dining room and mums room next to it

And then above mums room is the 2nd floor little single room which Connor was very keen to sleep in -
Connor loved the bath too - as did Loki
As soon as we arrived the kids were off to the pool - perfect! What a view!

Karl and mum chilling and below some photos of Loki in action : -

And then chilling out!

This again was a great place to stay and once we arrived the boys were not keen to go anywhere - fair enough! The hosts were fantastic, the location and facilities perfect and the weather was nice and hot! Superb.  Again we should have stayed two nights at least - this really is a beautiful area of France and I guess the reason we are here.

One of the villages we want to see was quite close to our accommodation so we left mum and the boys chilling at the chateau and we headed into Conques - check out the next post!

Aveyron is a department located in the north of the Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées region of southern France named after the Aveyron River and reportedly has some of the most beautiful villages in all of France.
