Albi

Our first stop today is the well known town of Albi.
Albi, capital of the Tarn,  is arguably the most interesting small city in the Midi-Pyrenees region.

The central point of Albi is the Sainte Cécile cathedral, a masterpiece of the Southern Gothic style, built between the 13th and 15th centuries. It is characterized by a strong contrast between its austere, defensive exterior and its sumptuous interior decoration. This gigantic brick structure was embellished over the centuries: and is the biggest brick church in Europe.

Very cute, long and narrow streets all heading toward the river -

Up and down and go!
This bridge was built around 1040 and is still in use today  -

The cathedral in the backgroud shows its immense size

The yummy market we found for our morning tea - mmmmmm
Connor found some delicious big strawberries and was in heaven -
Then we were off - heading toward Rodez
