Day 4 - Pisa to San Gimignano

Next we were off to San Gimignano and our accommodation for the next two nights.  We decided to put on the phone nav-man to help us out finding the initial direction and we were off – about 90 minutes to our destination.  We turned the nav man off but quickly got a bit lost, so turned it on again…………….still, we are kind of in the middle of nowhere! Got to San Gimignano

The beautiful view as you drive into San Gimignano

We drove around the town and it was crazy packed and parking was crazy.  We decided to head to our accommodation and then come into town later.  We had seen the sign to Pancole, just a minute or two out of town and so we were on our way and in about five minutes we were there – amazing accommodation in a vineyard – two bedroom apartment with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside and with a private balcony and outside grassed area as well as a fab swimming pool – heaven! They even gave you a complimentary bottle of wine on check in – this is my sort of place.

We quickly got the bags in (well Karl did) and we were changing and heading to the pool – perfect way to spend the afternoon.  A bit unfortunate for the couples relaxing in peace by the pool before our arrival with the noisy boys and the ball we had brought to play with……..anyway – we had a blast!

We then hopped out and got sorted before heading into town.  We went into the walled area of the city and I was in heaven – there are handbag/wallet stores for Africa and lots of other amazing shops –

The cool little streets of SG

I cannot wait to head back there tomorrow as tonight was just a little teaser to have a quick look before we had to get to the supermarket to get supplies.  This shut at 8pm and it was already after 7.  We had decided for dinner we would just get an antipasto platter for Karl and I and some pasta for the boys – perfect!  The pesto over here is to die for – amazing!!!!!!!  We then got home, got sorted and sat outside for our dinner agreeing that “this is the life for us” and with Connor saying we should stay at these places much more often!!!! Yes please I said!!!!!

 Boys being boys...............

Tomorrow the plan is to chill and have a relaxed breakfast outside in the courtyard before heading into town for some shopping and an afternoon by the pool! Our plan for these couple of days was to experience the Tuscan countryside and just cruise and chill before we hit the busy city of Rome! Ah holidays!
